Personal Experience
Julio is an Industrial Engineer with a Master in Science in Engineering from Universidad Católica (Chile), and an MBA of Adelaide University (Australia).
Prior to founding Star Energy Partners, Julio served as CEO of CAP S.A., the largest iron ore and steel company in the Pacific Coast, leading the design and implementation of a new sustainable corporate strategy and governance, supported by innovative mining and steel production processes, through the promotion of renewable and green hydrogen energies.
Previously (2014-2020) he exercised the role of CEO in Empresas Gasco S.A., a leading LPG, gas supplier and energy solutions provider in Chile.
He was responsible for the design of a new corporate strategy and business model that created competitive advantage in costs and customer service with significant improvement in the company financial performance.
Previously (1997-2013) he exercised several senior management positions in ENAP, the Chilean state-owned oil & gas company in which he spent his last 5 years as ENAP CEO, ENAP Refineries General Manager, ENAP Corporate Chief Commercial Officer and Business Development Manager in the upstream sector.
In addition, Julio has been involved as a Board Member in Compañía Minera del Pacifico , Compañía Siderúrgica Huachipato, Terminal GNL Quinteros, GASMAR LPG, ENAP Sipetrol and worked pro-bono as part-time strategy professor in the Engineering School of Universidad Católica de Chile.
