Personal Experience
Tomás is an Industrial Engineer from Universidad Católica (Chile) with an executive education in Artificial Intelligence (MIT), Venture Capital (Berkeley), among others. Prior to join Star Energy Partners, Tomás founded Digital eXp, a digital acceleration consultancy focusing on Energy, Utilities and Resource sectors.
Previously, he was appointed in Empresas GASCO S.A to led the digital transformation and innovation of the company revamped business model, where he developed new processes and set digital technologies that enabled a value chain optimization and better customer services.
As such, Tomás triggered the foundation of GASCO X, the new Technology and Innovation subsidiary, implementing data-based products (Business Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence), new digital channels and digital products that contributed to leverage the company’s energy transition.
Tomás deep experience and knowledge in technology-leveraged business models started from his experience at LATAM Airlines Group, where he spent more than 10 years in several senior management positions mainly in commercial and customer experience areas.
From those managerial positions he had the chance to participate actively on the design and implementation of a new commercial strategy of LATAM Airlines after its merger with TAM (based in Brazil, 2012 -2014), leading among other, Pricing & Revenue Management strategies to compete with low cost carriers in the region (2014-2016) and designing a new sales model that positioned LATAM as one of the top legacy carriers in US$/passenger ratio (2016-2018).
Finally, Tomás led the growth and positioning of the LATAM Pass, the fourth largest loyalty program in the world.
Additionally, Tomás is the Co-Founder of Punta el Monte Venture Capital that prepares and invests in Startups that lead through an inspiring purpose and with the conviction of generating a positive impact in the world.
